This year’s Hyde Park Blast was memorable in so many ways—but one moment that truly stood out was seeing Evan Huey, a brave Medulloblastoma cancer warrior, officially named the 2025 Race Ambassador by The Cure Starts Now and the Hyde Park Blast team.
Evan’s strength, optimism, and infectious spirit have touched everyone who’s met him, and being chosen as the “Amblastador” of the race was a powerful recognition of the journey he’s been on and the inspiration he continues to provide. From cheering on the racers to taking part in the day’s events, Evan carried the honor with pride and heart.
In an incredibly kind and unexpected gesture, the teams at The Cure Starts Now and Hyde Park Blast also presented me with a beautiful card and gift during the race. Their words of appreciation and encouragement meant more than I can express—and served as another reminder of the love and community that surround this event.
The Hyde Park Blast is more than just a race. It’s a day filled with purpose—bringing people together to support cancer research, celebrate survivors, and honor those still fighting. To be recognized in such a personal and thoughtful way was deeply moving.
We are so grateful to The Cure Starts Now and the Hyde Park Blast organizers—not only for selecting Evan as this year’s ambassador, but also for the genuine care and compassion they’ve shown every step of the way. Their commitment to making a difference in the lives of families like ours is something we’ll never forget.
Thank you again for making this year’s Blast such a meaningful and memorable experience. We’re already looking forward to next year!
