On Friday, June 20, we were honored to attend a special Dayton Air Show preview event, thanks to the generous invitation from the Wish Foundation of Southwest Ohio. Taking place the day before the show’s official opening, the event gave us front-row access to some of the most thrilling aviation performances in the country—and it was nothing short of unforgettable.
Set at the Dayton International Airport, the preview showcased all the excitement of the main event, including high-octane displays from elite stunt flyers and the awe-inspiring U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. The Thunderbirds, returning in 2025 as headline performers, demonstrated their signature precision flying that left the entire crowd amazed.
The preview was part of the new Vandalia Flight Fest, a community-focused celebration held the evening before the full show. This pre-show gathering featured meet-and-greet opportunities with the Thunderbirds and other performers, making the day even more personal and memorable for attendees.
This year’s CenterPoint Energy Dayton Air Show, presented by Kroger and held June 21–22, kicks off the next 50 years following a milestone 50th anniversary celebration in 2024. Alongside the Thunderbirds, this year’s lineup includes iconic acts like the B-29 Superfortress “Doc”, the adrenaline-packed Red Bull Air Force, and the historical Tora! Tora! Tora! reenactment. With food, fun, and family-friendly entertainment, it’s truly an event for all ages.
We’re incredibly grateful to the Wish Foundation of Southwest Ohio for including us in this exclusive preview. It was a day of inspiration, excitement, and gratitude—another reminder of how this organization continues to create meaningful experiences that go far beyond the expected.
