We were incredibly touched to see UC Blue Ash College share a special post on their Instagram page this week, spotlighting Evan Huey—his strength, his story, and his recent role as the Hyde Park Blast Amblastador.
As many know, Evan is currently battling Medulloblastoma, a rare form of brain cancer. Before his diagnosis, he was a proud student at UC Blue Ash, pursuing his studies with passion and determination. Though his academic journey was put on pause, Evan remains focused on healing and is determined to return to the classroom once he’s strong enough.
To see his school community recognize not just his fight, but his spirit and accomplishments, meant so much to all of us. UC Blue Ash’s post celebrated Evan’s role as race ambassador at the 2025 Hyde Park Blast—a position that honored both his personal resilience and the hope he brings to others facing similar challenges.
The support from the University of Cincinnati community has been a bright light throughout Evan’s journey, and messages like this one remind us how deeply connected and compassionate Bearcat Nation truly is.
We’re so proud of Evan and all that he continues to achieve, both in the face of adversity and in the community around him. His strength and positivity inspire everyone who knows him—and it’s clear that UC Blue Ash is cheering him on every step of the way.
Thank you again, UC Blue Ash, for your kind words and encouragement. Go Bearcats! We can’t wait for the day Evan walks back onto campus and continues pursuing his goals, stronger than ever.
