Walking in Hope: Pray~Hope~Believe Foundation 4th of July 5K

On July 4th, our community came together for the 14th Pray~Hope~Believe 5K, an incredible event dedicated to bringing hope to children battling brain cancer. Organized by the Pray~Hope~Believe Foundation, this race honors the memory of Tony, a young superhero who lost his battle with brain cancer on July 4, 2011. Each year, family, friends, and supporters gather not only to remember Tony but also to support kids and families currently facing similar battles.

Last year’s event welcomed an inspiring 1,313 participants, and this year, the turnout was just as powerful. Every step, every mile, and every donation directly helps children and their families by funding research and offering much-needed hope. In the past year alone, the foundation has donated more than $120,000 toward this cause—an incredible testament to the generosity and compassion of our community.

This year, Deb walked the race in honor of Evan, a courageous Medulloblastoma warrior. She joined the Taylor family, who have been walking this race for years to celebrate Tony’s memory and support other children like Evan. It was a meaningful moment of unity—walking side by side for the same cause that first brought this community together.

The Pray~Hope~Believe Foundation’s mission is simple but powerful: bring hope to children with brain cancer. Their tireless efforts, year after year, have made a lasting impact, helping fund vital research and providing families with the support they need in the fight of their lives.

Thank you to everyone who made this year’s event so special. Whether you ran, walked, volunteered, or donated, you are making a difference.

We encourage everyone to mark their calendars for next year and help keep Tony’s spirit alive while bringing hope to many more children like Evan. For more about the foundation, visit prayhopebelieve.org
